Completely hand-crafted, highly detailed and beautifully presented model from the master carver. Samuel Walker (1908-1964) was a master craftsman, engineer and ship model builder from Boston, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the USMC in 1942, and served in the battles of of Saipan and Tinian. After the war, Walker married Elizebeth Howard and started a family, while restoring a 1720's house in Merrimac. This is the house where Walker would go on to make so many exceptional ship models. His work has been exhibited at the Peabody Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, and is included in some of the finest ship model collections in the United States.
