Of classical Hispano-Moresque form, with complex interlocking pattern and warm tones; areas of glaze loss commensurate with age; writing on the reverse, partially legible, indicates Seville origin and 1862 export to London. These highly decorative tiles were made by pressing a mold onto the soft clay tile, leaving ridges (arista) which create separate compartments for glaze to be applied to. 10" x 10".
