Mostly from one or several trips on the H.G. Hill, the wooden-hulled sternwheeler that the Nashville Navigation Company operated along the Mississippi out of Nashville and Paducah, and up the Cumberland River. One photo shows the M.T. Bryan, a smaller sternwheeler steamer operated by the same company, dating the photos to 1918-1922, as the M.T. Bryan burned at Eddyville in October of 1922. Subjects include The H.G. Hill and other steamships, river scenes of the Cumberland, Polk’s tomb and the Jackson Memorial in Federal Hill Nashville, farming life in Ohio, and one seemingly from a different trip showing the Montreal city hall. From an album, most number in pencil in lower corner, and captioned on back. 22 silver gelatin prints, approx. 5 1/4” x 3 1/2”, in antique album condition, a few with tears and loss, but mostly complete and in good condition.
