Depicting a snowy Beal Street with the bell tower at 23 Lynn street, currently home to Norway Children's Care, Community Concepts care provider under the direction of the Head Start program. Slade collaborated with his wife, Gayle Fraas, for many years. They lived in Maine, and later, Connecticut. Besides painting, their work also focused on fiber art and quilting. Even their paintings, though, are about surfaces, textures, and place. Duncan Slade's work can be found in the Philadelphia Museum, Philadelphia, PA, the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA, the Museum of Art and Design, NYC, and other venerable institutions.
