Mounted as a weathervane, the plane mostly made of wood, with metal rear stabilizer/rudder assembly. 24" length, 42" wingspan, 16" height, as mounted. The Lockheed Model 10 Electra is an iconic design in aviation history. The Electra was Lockheed's first all-metal and twin-engined design by Lloyd Stearman and Hall Hibbard, and was the flagship aircraft for many small airlines that emerged in the 1930's, including Boston-Maine Airways, which would later become Northeast Airways. One of the founders of Boston-Maine Airways was Amelia Earhart, who flew promotional tours for the airline in this model Electra, and famously her fatal voyage was taken in a modified version of an L-10 Electra.
