"Entrance to the Navy Yard, Washington", gouache en grisaille on board, signed lower left and titled on the backing board in ink; original illustration for The Century Magazine, March 1884 (Volume XXVII, No.5), for an article titled "The New Washington". 5 5/8" x 9 1/2", affixed to a 10 1/2" x 15" board, with pencil notations indicating a two column size in magazine.
