Gouache on illustration board, signed lower left. Framed and under slightly foggy "museum glass" (not sure why this was ever a thing for paintings like this, but alas...), with presentation plaque reading "United States Army Evacuation Hospital / Developed by Garrett Airesearch / Art by Dick Aleith. 22" x 30", matted and framed to 28 1/2" x 36 1/2". In excellent condition, with a few small spots of damage but otherwise clean and bright. We've found that this painting was used in an obscure publication from the early 70's, relating to the defense contractor listed on the plaque, which now goes by the name of Honeywell. This painting purportedly won a prize, and it's unclear if this evacuation hospital was every built. Garrett Airsearch expanded its operations in the 1960's, from a turbine manufacturer to a full service defense contractor. Dick Aleith was born in Snohomish, Washington and spent much of his life in Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked for Garrett Airesearch. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1946-1947 and was an avid mountain climber and author. He is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
