Linocut print, signed, dated and inscribed on lower border, 24" x 18" on 29" x 22 1/2" sheet, created and printed in 2015.

Goodman met the artist Art Hazelwood while in San Quentin State Prison. Hazelwood was a guest printmaking teacher, and the two soon began collaborating on a project for the Western Regional Advocacy Project to draw attention to the link between homelessness and incarceration.  From his release in 2010 until 2015, they worked together weekly at Hazelwood's studio.  "Ronnie's great achievement was in overcoming so many obstacles to create powerful artwork that addressed two of the darkest and most neglected aspects of American life, prison and homelessness. He lived those experiences. He was a black man, an ex-con, an addict and homeless. But it wasn't his own experience only that gave his work such power, but a deep compassion for others that propelled his work. His work represented the difficult life he and his community lived."

In 2015, Goodman had a two person show with Hazelwood at the Georgia Museum of Art.  That same year, Goodman's son was murdered and he fell back into the grips of addiction.  Goodman died in his encampment on the corner of 16th Street and Capp Street in the Mission District in August, 2020.
