Susan Minot (b.1956), Mixed Media, titled, "Dancers Moving Right on Kerhonkson Pond", a group of dancers seemingly floating on body of water in a wooded setting, a movie still from the 1937 film, "Shall we Dance", image size is 23 3/4" x 18 3/4" mounted on matt board and framed in a black 32" x 26" frame, signed lower right, "1/5, SAM, 2021", this is however one of kind as the series was not continued.

Susan Minot (b.1956) is an acclaimed writer and painter, born in Boston and raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, with six siblings who are all artists. She attended Concord Academy, Brown University, and Columbia University where she received an MFA in creative writing in 1983 and a MacDowell Colony fellowship in Peterborough, NH in 1984. Her debut novel, Monkeys, won the Prix Femina Etranger in 1986 and established Minot on the literary scene where she has been a fixture ever since. In 1995, Minot co-wrote Stealing Beauty with that film's Academy Award winning director, Bernardo Bertolucci. Her novel Evening, nominated for the LA Book Award, was a worldwide bestseller and became a major motion picture in 2007. Minot has always made watercolor paintings as what she calls "a way of meditating", and also explores the same themes of sex, relationships and family found in her novels, poems and short stories through collages; drawing from found materials film stills, family photos, magazine snippets, this work confounds and delights. Minot teaches at Stony Brook University and lives in New York City and North Haven, an island off the coast of Maine. Her work has been shown at Area Gallery (Rockland, ME), North Haven Gallery, One Mile Gallery, NYC, and The Shala, NYC.
