Two Monadnock Scenes, Kristina Wentzell. One titled "Dusk", 2009, a lakeside scene, oil on board, signed lower right, in gold painted frame. 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" (sight); the other titled "Summer Afternoon", oil on canvas, signed lower right and signed and titled on the reverse; 10" x 10". Wentzell studied art in France with at Parsons School of Design, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and Massachusetts College of Art. She currently lives and works out of Keene NH, and reflects: My art is inspired by direct engagement with natural places. I have been fortunate to travel and live in beautiful settings on the coast and in the mountains of Maine, the Pacific Northwest, Australia, western New York and most recently the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire. I've always felt compelled to create. My inspiration is rooted in the beauty I see around me, not just in picture postcard scenes but everywhere, in the play of light on a leaf in my backyard, the shapes and colors in the sky, stones on a beach or reflections in a puddle. Light, color and beauty are everywhere. I am interested in capturing the feeling of a place, its movement and energy. (source http://www.kristinawentzell.com)
