Terms & Conditions

1. Peterborough Auctions Direct: buyer's premium bills at 24% for all credit card payments and is discounted to 22% for payment with check, cash or wire transfer (wire fees apply). Bidsquare: buyer's premium bills at 28% for all credit card payments and is discounted to 25% for payment with check, cash or wire transfer (wire fees apply). 

2. All goods are sold "as is" and "where is" and "with all faults". All sales are final. All items are sold without warranty as to authenticity, date, origin, conditions, etc. If goods prove defective after purchase, the buyer shall assume all costs for repair or servicing. Condition reports are not included. It is the sole responsibility of the prospective bidders to examine lots and decide their level of interest. Neither the auctioneer, nor the consignor, is responsible for the accuracy of any printed or verbal descriptions. All weights and measurements are approximate. 

3. The auctioneer has the sole right to settle disputed bids and decide whether or not to re-offer the lot. 

4. The purchaser assumes complete responsibility for items at the fall of the hammer. 

5. Absentee bids and phone bids will be executed as a convenience to the customers. The auction house will not be held responsible for any errors or failure to accurately execute bids. Absentee and phone bidders are encouraged to submit their bids no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. 

6. Items may be withdrawn at any time prior to the offering of each lot. 

7. Some of the lots in a sale may be offered subject to a reserve. The reserve is a confidential minimum price agreed by the consignor and Peterborough Auctions LLC. In most cases, the reserve will be set below the estimated range, but in no case will it exceed the estimate given. A representative of Peterborough Auctions LLC will execute such reserves by bidding for the consignor. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject an opening bid that in her opinion is not commensurate with the value of the lot. 

8. Payment by cash, credit card, good check and wire transfer ($25 International fee, $10 Domestic fee will be added to invoice total). The auction house reserves the right to hold property for personal checks until the check clears, typically 3-7 business days. Potential buyers of expensive lots should discuss payment before the sale, some lots will have payment type restrictions as noted in the catalog description. A $35.00 fee will be charged for returned checks. If a check fails to clear after a second deposit, the purchaser will be held responsible for any and all fees incurred until we have collected good funds. 

9. Payment is due at the end of each sale, or upon receipt of the invoice. Credit cards (which are required to leave a left bid or phone bid) can be charged 14 days following the sale if no communication about payment is made. Peterborough Auctions LLC, shall have no liability for any damage to property left on its premises as of the sale date. 

10. It is crucial that you make immediate arrangements for shipping and inform us of your arrangements to either ship or pick up at our location. Items left on premise after 30 days with no known arrangements will be subject to storage fees in the amount of $5 per day, per lot. Items left on premise after 60 days with no known arrangements will be considered abandoned and disposed of as seen fit by Peterborough Auctions LLC. 

11. Peterborough Auctions LLC offers direct pick-up by appointment only. Please call ahead to schedule a pick-up time. Peterborough Auctions LLC, does not ship any lots sold at our auctions. Our shipping partner is KaSa CMT, Inc. located in Peterborough NH. They provide excellent services using FedEx, UPS, and the USPS. They can be reached via email at peter@kasacmt.com (preferred method is email) or at 603-784-5327. Please contact them directly for shipping quotes and shipping payment. The buyer is responsible for contacting KasaCMT after their invoice is paid in full and requesting shipping services, we do not contact them on your behalf. They will pick up your item(s) after your invoice is paid in full. 

12. Certain categories are subject to flat rate shipping and will be listed as such in auction descriptions. Lots will be shipped to the address on the invoice once payment is received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to update their address or inform us of an alternate address BEFORE making payment as the flat rate shipping process is automated. We are not responsible for any additional fees to redirect a flat rate delivery.
