This is a very fine, richly inked etching with beautiful plate tone. The image size is 6 x 7 3/4 inches, published in 1938 in an edition of 100, pencil signed, dated and editioned. This etching is in pristine condition printed on a heavy weight wove type paper with wide margins and deckle edges, with a small blindstamp in the lower right margin. Armin Landeck was born in Wisconsin and graduated with a degree in architecture from Columbia University in 1927, then went on to study art and printmaking at the Art Students League in New York and spent a couple of years traveling through Europe, studying the art and architecture of the landmark European cities. Landeck became quite well known for his etchings and engravings, many featuring the architecture of New York City.
